What we do for your Subaru
Paint protection film
The WRX's hood scoop and the BRZ's low nose take stones first. Outbacks and Foresters that head for the mountains chip on the lower doors and the rear bumper, where film earns its keep.
Window tint
Ceramic film cools the cabin; the front side windows stay within California's limits, and nothing goes near the EyeSight cameras.
Ceramic coating
A ceramic coating helps road salt, dust and mud rinse off after a trip.
Wraps
A wrap or satin film changes the colour or adds graphics, and protects the paint underneath.
Good to know
- EyeSight's two cameras sit at the top of the windshield, by the mirror. Any windshield strip is cut to leave them a clear view.
- The rear bumper's top edge takes scratches when bikes, skis and bags go in and out. A strip of film there is a small job.
Questions owners ask
- Is window tint legal on my Subaru in California?
- Yes, within limits. The front side windows must still let in at least 70% of the light with the film on, and only the top 4 inches of the windshield can be tinted. The back side and rear glass can go darker. We fit film that keeps the car legal.
- Will tint affect EyeSight?
- Not the way we fit it. The cameras look through the windshield, and the only tint California allows there is a strip across the top 4 inches, which we keep clear of them.
- Is film worth it on an Outback or Forester?
- If the car goes to the mountains or down gravel roads, film on the front end, the lower doors and the rear bumper top takes the chips and scrapes first.
