Paint protection film
The Air's long, low nose takes the chips first. Front-end film or full-body film keeps the paint as delivered.
Window tint
Ceramic film cuts the heat through the side glass; the front side windows stay within California's limits. We look at the glass roof's own coating before suggesting any film there.
Ceramic coating
A ceramic coating keeps the deep gloss and makes the large panels quicker to wash.
Wraps
A wrap or satin film changes the colour and protects the paint underneath.
Good to know
- Cameras and radar sit across the front end, and DreamDrive Pro cars add a lidar unit. Film is cut around every sensor.
- Many Airs have one large glass roof that curves from the windshield back. It is already treated, so we check it before any film goes on.
Questions owners ask
- Is window tint legal on my Lucid in California?
- Yes, within limits. The front side windows must still let in at least 70% of the light with the film on, and only the top 4 inches of the windshield can be tinted. The back side and rear glass can go darker. We fit film that keeps the car legal.
- Can you tint the glass roof?
- Sometimes. The roof glass is already treated, and film on a large curved piece has to suit it. We look at the car first and tell you plainly whether it is worth doing.
- Full-body film or front end only?
- Front-end film covers where most chips land. Full-body film adds the doors, roof pillars and rear, and suits owners who want the whole car kept as delivered.
